KIWI COASTAL MAGIC WITH AN ENGLISH TWIST

Ever fancied living in the English Cotswolds but cant bear to pull yourself away from the relaxed kiwi boating lifestyle? Its just an hour or so from Auckland at the end of the peninsula at Scotts Landing in Mahurangi. The property beckons you to immerse yourself in a unique lifestyle, the finest New Zealand has to offer.

Right at the waters edge, the traditional, five year old, Cotswold-style, brick home basks in views over the sleepy Te Kapa Inlet where the famous annual Mahurangi vintage boat race takes place. You can moor your boat at the bottom of the lawnready to explore the boundless bays and islands on your way out to the Pacific Ocean.

Meticulously crafted, the home is spacious, comfortable and relaxing. Full of English character, it incorporates extensive recycled timbers in the ceilings, floors and joinery. There are jarrah ceiling beams, totara door frames, cedar sashes and a beautiful old, recycled kauri staircase. Bricks on the exterior came from the Grafton Gorge in Auckland.

Substantial open-plan living downstairs flowing outdoors makes it easy to entertain. In winter, a big open-fire in a stone fireplace keeps the house cosy. A farmhouse style kitchen has a full-size scullery behind, well-equipped to for crowds. The grand living room spills outside to a covered verandah overlooking the inlet. The other side opens through French doors to a generous, sheltered courtyard and lawn. The whole house wraps around the courtyard, so you can always retreat from offshore breezes.

The house was designed for a couple but because it is large enough, it can to adapt to a variety of situations. There are obvious options for a family or boutique accommodation. The large master suite downstairs is self-contained with a traditional bathroom and huge walk-in dressing room. While you live downstairs, the whole top floor area with two large independent suites can be used independently. Guests can come to stay and happily enjoy their own space without tripping over one another.
The home is on two acres of land but theres more land if required. A cottage on the property can also be negotiated.
